The WALTER 5025569 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning operations. Featuring a CCGT insert style with an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, it is coated with TiCN Plus via a PVD process under the Tiger-tec WXN10 grade. The insert carries a positive rake angle of 25 degrees and a positive side clearance, which reduces cutting forces and promotes clean chip evacuation. With a 0.25-inch inscribed circle and a 0.008-inch corner radius, this insert is engineered for light to medium-depth finishing and semi-finishing passes in non-ferrous and steel applications. Installation uses a screw-holding method, and the neutral hand orientation supports flexible setup on standard tool holders.
The WALTER 5025569 is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on non-ferrous metals as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel. The PM2 chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining conditions, making it a practical choice across varied stock removal scenarios. With two cutting edges per insert, it provides extended tool life per piece. This insert is identified under ANSI code CCGT21.50.5 and ISO code CCGT060202, and is compatible with standard CCGT-style screw-on tool holders used in production turning environments.
Designed for use in standard CCGT screw-on turning tool holders accepting a 0.25-inch inscribed circle insert with ANSI size code 21.50.5 and ISO size code 060202. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal; secondary materials include steel and stainless steel.
This insert is installed by a machinist or tooling technician using the screw-holding method standard to CCGT tool holders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Inspect the pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installation. Do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can crack carbide inserts.
