The WALTER 5009571 is a single-end, right-hand indexable cutoff blade in the MSS-E blade style, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The blade accepts GX16-1 series inserts secured by screw-clamp holding, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during cutoff and grooving work. It is built to ISO standards and suited for metal-cutting environments where consistent depth control and tight insert compatibility are required. With a cutting height of 1.000 inch and a maximum depth of cut of 0.472 inches, this blade handles a broad range of workpiece diameters up to 3.110 inches. Machining professionals and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
The 5009571 is intended for grooving and cutoff applications on workpieces up to 3.110 inches in diameter, making it appropriate for general-purpose turning operations in job shops, production machining, and maintenance machining environments. It is compatible with the NCAE 25-1616 R/L-GX 16-1 tool block style and accepts inserts in the GX16-1 family across a range of grades and geometries. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard left-to-right turning setups on conventional and CNC lathes.
Compatible tool block style: NCAE 25-1616 R/L-GX 16-1. Compatible insert styles: GXE and GXF. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing inserts or seating the blade in the tool block, ensure the machine is powered down, the spindle is locked, and the work area is clear. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the screw-clamp fastener as specified by the insert manufacturer. Verify blade seating and tool overhang against the tool block reference surface before resuming cutting operations.
