The WALTER 5006676 is a countersunk cap screw designed to secure indexable inserts in face mill cutter toolholders. With an M3 thread and T8 Torx drive, this screw provides reliable clamping force for indexable cutting inserts used in precision milling operations. The flat point and countersunk head profile seat flush within the toolholder pocket, maintaining insert position under cutting loads. At 7.00 mm (0.2756 inches) overall length and 0.02 pounds, it is a purpose-built fastener for maintaining insert integrity during face milling. Installation requires a T8 Torx key driver, specifically the FS230 driver. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working with Walter indexable tooling systems are the primary installers.
This cap screw is intended for use in face mill cutter toolholders, specifically the F2036 toolholder style. It is compatible with a defined set of indexable inserts and is used in production machining environments where secure, repeatable insert clamping is critical. Typical applications include face milling operations on machining centers and manual mills where Walter indexable insert systems are in service.
Designed for use with the F2036 toolholder style. Compatible inserts include P 20200 - 2.1, P 20200 - 2.2, P 20200 - 2.3, SPGT 09T308-PM2, SPMT 09T308-PM1, and SPMW 09T308. Insert inscribed circle is 0.375 inches. Use with FS230 key driver.
Install and remove this screw using the designated FS230 T8 Torx key driver only. Using an incorrect driver size risks stripping the Torx socket, which can make insert changes difficult and may damage the toolholder pocket. Always disengage the machine spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing inserts or replacing clamping hardware. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the M3 screw size when available in the toolholder documentation.
