The WALTER 5004875 is a solid carbide milling insert in the ZDGT series, designed for high-precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It carries manufacturer grade WK10 and features a bright uncoated finish, making it well suited for applications where coating buildup or chemical reaction with the workpiece must be avoided. The insert is parallelogram-shaped, right-hand cutting, with a positive rake angle of 25 degrees, a sharp cutting edge style, and a 15-degree relief angle. With 2 cutting edges and a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch), it delivers clean, accurate cuts in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials. Licensed trade machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is engineered for use on milling cutters compatible with the ZDGT insert series, with primary application in non-ferrous metal machining (Material Grade N10, Primary Workpiece Material Code N). Typical install scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile operations on CNC machining centers where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. The insert mounts via screw holding method, consistent with standard ZDGT toolholder configurations. The ANSI and ISO designation for this insert is ZDGT150404R-K85 WK10, and it is compliant with both ANSI and ISO standards.
Designed for use with Walter cutter series M2131 and toolholders configured for ZDGT series inserts with screw holding method. ANSI and ISO code: ZDGT150404R-K85 WK10. Insert size code 150404. Suitable for multi-use tooling setups.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and avoid premature edge failure.
