The VON DUPRIN 05011428 is a hex dogging conversion kit designed to add dogging functionality to compatible Von Duprin exit devices. Dogging allows the latch to be held in the retracted position, enabling free egress without requiring push force on the crossbar — a common requirement in high-traffic commercial and institutional applications. The kit measures 21 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, and 0.5 inches in height, and weighs 0.8 pounds. It is finished in 628 anodized aluminum, providing corrosion resistance suitable for interior commercial door hardware installations.
This conversion kit is intended for use with 3-foot or 4-foot Von Duprin 33A and 99 series exit devices. It is commonly installed in public buildings, schools, hospitals, office buildings, and other commercial facilities where controlled egress points require dogging capability. The kit converts non-dogged devices to hex dogging operation, allowing facility managers or technicians to hold the latch retracted using a standard hex key.
Designed for use with Von Duprin 33A and 99 series exit devices in 3-foot or 4-foot configurations with a 628 anodized aluminum finish.
Installation should be performed by a qualified door hardware technician or licensed locksmith familiar with Von Duprin exit device components. Ensure the door and device are secured and the door is held open or blocked before beginning disassembly. Follow the device manufacturer's installation instructions and verify compliance with applicable building and life-safety codes, including IBC and NFPA 101, before returning the device to service. Do not defeat or permanently disable any required life-safety egress hardware.
