The VLIER SSS67 is a threaded spring plunger designed for use in indexing, positioning, and locating applications where repeatable, spring-loaded force is required. The stainless steel body and nose provide corrosion resistance in demanding environments. The plunger delivers an initial end force of 4 pounds and a final end force of 31 pounds, making it suitable for moderate-load positioning tasks. At 2-13/32 inches in body and thread length, it fits standard 1/8-inch threaded housings and is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and mechanical assembly professionals working with precision fixtures and jigs.
The SSS67 is used in light industrial and precision mechanical applications including tooling fixtures, machine beds, assembly jigs, and locating plates. The standard plunger length type and 1/2-inch projection are well suited to repetitive positioning cycles in manufacturing and maintenance environments. No locking element is incorporated, allowing straightforward installation and adjustment by hand or with standard tooling.
Designed as a standard OEM-style threaded spring plunger for use in 1/8-inch threaded housings in precision fixtures, jigs, and locating assemblies.
Installation is performed by machinists or mechanical technicians using standard hand tools appropriate for 1/8-inch threaded fasteners. Ensure the receiving threaded bore is clean and free of debris before installation. De-energize or lock out any machinery before installing or servicing spring plungers in active tooling fixtures. Avoid overtightening, which can deform the plunger body or restrict spring travel.
