The VLIER SPRTL375 is a locking knob handle plunger designed for precision positioning and indexing applications in mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 thread size and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.25 inches. The initial end force is 0.25 pounds, ramping to a final end force of 2 pounds, providing positive engagement under load. The body is stainless steel with a black finish and a Delrin knob, making it suitable for environments where corrosion resistance and manual adjustability are required. Machinists, toolmakers, and mechanical assembly technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This locking plunger is used in jigs, fixtures, machine tool components, and positioning assemblies where a manually adjustable, lockable plunger point is needed. The locking knob style allows the plunger to be set and held in position without backing out under vibration or repeated actuation. It is suited for light-duty industrial applications in both production and maintenance environments where reliable, repeatable part location is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for mechanical fixtures and assemblies using standard 3/8-16 threaded locking plunger positions.
Install into a tapped 3/8-16 hole using hand torque on the Delrin knob. Ensure the mating bore or receiver hole is clean and free of debris before inserting the plunger. Disengage the locking mechanism before adjusting plunger depth, and verify full locking engagement before returning the assembly to service. No special tooling is required for standard installation.
