The VLIER PRSN500 is a non-locking pull ring spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty retaining applications in industrial assemblies. The plunger body is machined from steel and uses a 1/2-13 thread for installation into tapped holes. Initial end force is 1 pound, rising to a final end force of 4 pounds, giving technicians a defined tactile feel at the detent position without locking. The pull ring allows manual plunger retraction without additional tools, making it well suited for assemblies that require frequent repositioning or access.
This spring plunger is used in machine tool fixtures, jigs, positioning plates, and light industrial equipment where repeatable detent action is needed. The non-locking design allows free release under load without requiring the operator to pull the ring, but the ring provides a positive manual retraction point when needed. It is typically installed by machinists, millwrights, or maintenance technicians during equipment assembly or rebuild.
Designed as a standard-thread spring plunger for use in tapped 1/2-13 holes in industrial fixtures, jigs, and positioning assemblies requiring non-locking detent action.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped 1/2-13 hole using a wrench on the 0.5-inch hex. De-energize or lock out any machinery before installing or servicing plungers in live fixtures. Do not exceed the rated end force by over-compressing the plunger, and ensure thread engagement depth is sufficient to handle the applied load without stripping.
