The VLIER NP308 is a steel toggle pad designed for use with workholding fixtures, jigs, and clamping assemblies in industrial and tooling applications. The pad features a Delrin pad material with an uncoated bottom surface and a steel tip, providing a balance of grip and surface protection. It carries a 5/8-11 UNC thread for straightforward integration into standard clamping setups. The overall assembly length is 1 inch, with a pad diameter of 11/16 inches and a width across flats of 7/8 inches. A 15-degree swivel angle allows the pad to conform to angled or uneven workpiece surfaces without losing clamping force.
Toggle pads like the NP308 are used in precision machining and fabrication environments where repeatable, secure clamping is required. They are typically installed on toggle clamps, swing clamps, and fixture components in job shops, production lines, and toolroom setups. The zinc plated gold chromate finish provides corrosion resistance suitable for general shop environments. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this type of hardware.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade pad for industrial toggle clamps and clamping fixtures using 5/8-11 UNC threaded pad seats.
Toggle pads are typically installed by machinists or fixture builders as part of workholding assembly. Thread the NP308 into the clamping arm or pad seat by hand first, then snug with a wrench using the 7/8-inch width across flats. Verify the swivel action moves freely before putting the fixture into service. Inspect the Delrin pad face periodically for wear that could affect clamping consistency.
