The VLIER FRS625P is a locking L handle spring plunger designed for precision indexing, positioning, and holding applications in industrial assemblies and fixtures. It features a 5/8-11 thread with a thread length of 1.07 inches and a plunger diameter of 0.38 inches. The locking element engages the plunger to hold it in the retracted position, preventing unintended extension during handling or repositioning. Initial end force is 0.75 pounds, with a final end force of 2.5 pounds, giving technicians a defined force range for controlled engagement. Constructed of steel for durability in demanding shop and production environments, this plunger is installed by machine builders, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics.
The FRS625P is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, machine tool components, and automated assemblies where repeatable positioning is required. The L handle design allows manual retraction and locking without additional tooling, making it practical in applications where the plunger must be held back during part loading or changeover. The plunger body length of 1.88 inches and length under head of 1.25 inches are sized for standard fixture plate and housing installations. A plunger projection of 0.5 inches provides consistent engagement depth at the workpiece interface.
Designed as a direct-install locking spring plunger for industrial jigs, fixtures, and machine tool assemblies requiring a 5/8-11 threaded plunger with locking L handle actuation.
Installation is performed by maintenance mechanics or machine builders using standard threading tools sized for 5/8-11. Ensure the mating threaded housing is clean and free of debris before installing the plunger. Disengage any stored spring force and verify the locking element is in the retracted position before threading into the housing. Torque to the fixture manufacturer's specification for the housing material; do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking element or distort the plunger body.
