The VLIER DBML12A is a threaded ball plunger designed for controlled end-force positioning applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a steel body with a nylon ball and a zinc-plated finish, providing corrosion resistance in light-duty environments. It uses an M12 x 1.75 thread size, making it compatible with standard metric tapped holes. The nylon ball delivers an initial end force of 2.25 pounds and a final end force of 4.5 pounds, allowing consistent, repeatable detent action without damaging mating surfaces. The body measures 0.866 inches in length with a maximum ball reach of 0.098 inches.
This ball plunger is suited for use in fixtures, jigs, tooling plates, indexing mechanisms, and light positioning assemblies where a soft, non-marring contact point is required. The nylon ball is appropriate for applications involving softer mating materials or where metal-to-metal contact must be avoided. It is typically installed by machinists, toolmakers, and mechanical assemblers working with precision fixtures or production equipment.
Designed for installation in metric M12 x 1.75 tapped holes in tooling plates, fixtures, jigs, and indexing assemblies requiring controlled end-force ball plungers.
Install using a hex key or appropriate driver into a clean, correctly tapped M12 x 1.75 hole. De-energize or lock out any equipment before servicing assemblies that contain this plunger. Avoid overtightening, as this can restrict ball movement or damage the nylon ball. Confirm ball travel and end-force engagement before returning the assembly to service.
