The VIEGA 44360 is a transition coupling that connects a 3/4-inch PEX crimp connection to a 1/2-inch press connection in a single fitting. It allows plumbers to join PEX tubing systems with press-style copper or press-compatible piping without additional adapters. The 3/4-inch crimp end accepts standard PEX crimp rings, while the 1/2-inch press end is designed for tool-actuated press-fit joining. This fitting is used in new construction and retrofit plumbing work where two different connection methods meet in the same run.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a PEX distribution system transitions to a press-fit branch or riser. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers working on domestic hot and cold water supply systems. The fitting is useful in situations where a larger PEX main feed steps down to a smaller press-fit supply line, combining the flexibility of PEX with the speed of press-fit connections.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for plumbing systems that combine PEX crimp and press-fit connection methods in 3/4-inch by 1/2-inch configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before beginning work. The crimp end requires a calibrated PEX crimp tool and appropriate crimp rings; the press end requires a compatible press tool. Do not over-crimp or attempt the press connection without the correct jaw size for the fitting diameter.
