The VESTIL MANUFACTURING SBM-40 is an adjustable spreader beam rated for 4000 pounds of lifting capacity. Fabricated from welded steel channels with a durable powder coat finish in blue, this beam distributes load across two lower lift points, reducing sling angles and side-loading on rigging hardware. The upper clevis slides between the beam channels and locks at 4 incremental positions, while the lower bails also adjust at 4 increments along the beam length. The result is a versatile lifting solution for uneven, awkward, and uniquely shaped loads that would otherwise stress or damage standard single-point rigging. This beam meets ASME B30.20-1993 standards for below-the-hook lifting devices.
The SBM-40 is suited for industrial, construction, and manufacturing environments where rigid or irregular loads require controlled, balanced overhead lifts. Typical applications include lifting structural steel, machinery, precast concrete, and fabricated assemblies that cannot be safely handled with a single-leg sling. The adjustable bail and clevis positions allow riggers to fine-tune the balance point for off-center loads, making this beam practical across a wide range of lift configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style below-the-hook lifting device compatible with standard overhead crane hooks, hoists, and rigging systems that accept clevis-style connections at or above the rated capacity of this beam.
Installation and operation of this spreader beam should be performed by a qualified rigger or licensed lifting equipment professional familiar with ASME B30.20 requirements. Before each use, inspect all welds, the sliding clevis, bail pins, and powder coat for signs of cracking, deformation, or wear. Ensure the overhead crane or hoist is rated at or above the combined load weight plus beam weight before lifting. Never exceed the 4000 lb rated capacity, and always confirm bail and clevis positions are fully engaged at a rated increment before the lift.
