The VESTIL MANUFACTURING ATS-6-68 is an alternating tread stair unit built for industrial and commercial access applications where floor space is limited. The alternating tread design reduces the horizontal span required compared to a conventional straight staircase, making it practical in tight mezzanine, platform, or equipment access situations. Construction is welded steel throughout, with bolt-on handrails on both sides and formed steel steps featuring raised surfaces for improved traction. The unit ships knocked down to reduce freight costs and is finished in a powder-coated safety yellow for high visibility in work environments.
The ATS-6-68 is suited for industrial facilities, warehouses, mezzanine platforms, and elevated work areas where a full-width staircase is not practical. The dual safety chain at the top of the stair provides a barrier at the landing entry point. Handrails on each side of the unit support safe ascent and descent. This unit is typically installed by millwrights, facilities maintenance personnel, or general contractors working to meet OSHA or building code requirements for elevated access.
Designed as a self-contained alternating tread stair unit for industrial and commercial elevated access applications including mezzanines, platforms, and equipment access points.
Installation is typically performed by millwrights or facilities maintenance personnel familiar with OSHA stair and railing requirements. Power down or de-energize any adjacent equipment before working in the installation area. Anchor the base securely to the floor structure per the manufacturer instructions included with the unit. Verify handrail and safety chain attachment points are fully fastened before placing the unit in service.
