The VESTIL MANUFACTURING HI-J-100 is a ratchet-style trailer stabilizing jack rated for 10,000 pounds of static capacity. It is designed to prevent semi-trailers from up-ending when disconnected from a tractor during loading and unloading operations. The jack is also used to level trailers parked on sloped surfaces and to keep landing gear from sinking into soft ground. Construction is high-strength steel with a powder coat safety yellow finish. A reflective collar increases visibility during nighttime dock operations. A flush-type Zerk fitting is included for lubricating the Acme screw mechanism. Dock crew and fleet maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This jack is suited for commercial freight terminals, distribution center docks, and any staging area where unsupported semi-trailers are loaded or unloaded. It addresses OSHA requirements for trailer restraint when used in conjunction with wheel chocks. It is equally effective on flat concrete, asphalt, and firm compacted surfaces, and provides a stable support point when landing gear integrity is a concern on soft or uneven ground.
Designed as a standard trailer stabilizing jack for use with conventional semi-trailers at loading docks and staging areas. Consult applicable OSHA dock safety guidelines to confirm fitment with your specific trailer and facility configuration.
Installation and setup should be performed by qualified dock equipment technicians or fleet maintenance personnel familiar with OSHA trailer restraint requirements. Wheel chocks must be used alongside this jack to meet OSHA regulations - the jack alone does not constitute full trailer restraint. Ensure the base is placed on a firm, level surface before engaging the ratchet mechanism. Inspect the Acme screw and Zerk fitting regularly and lubricate as needed to maintain proper function.
