The VERNON CCH-CCH1770 is an adjustable depth drill countersink designed for precision holemaking in metal, wood, and composite materials. Built from high speed steel, it delivers consistent cutting performance across repeated use. The tool features a 5/16-inch cutter diameter, a 90-degree included angle, and a 45-degree centerline angle, making it well suited for standard countersink profiles. A 1/4-inch collar thickness supports controlled depth adjustment, giving the installer repeatable results across a workpiece. The cutter head measures 5/8 inches in length. This countersink is right-hand cut and accepts a number 16 drill for combined drilling and countersinking in a single pass.
The CCH-CCH1770 is used in light industrial, maintenance, and trade fabrication settings where countersunk fastener holes are required. It is appropriate for applications in metal framing, HVAC sheet metal work, electrical enclosure assembly, and general mechanical fabrication. The adjustable depth collar makes it practical for production runs where consistent hole depth is required across multiple identical workpieces. Licensed tradespeople and skilled fabricators working with standard 90-degree flat-head fasteners will find this tool fits common countersink requirements.
Designed for use with a number 16 drill as a combined drill and countersink tool for standard 90-degree flat-head fastener applications.
This countersink is installed and operated by machinists, fabricators, and trade professionals using a standard drill press or handheld drill driver. Secure the tool firmly in the chuck before use and verify the depth collar is locked at the desired setting before beginning the cut. Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the tool if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
