The VERMONT GAGE 911131500 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed to measure bore diameters with a nominal measurement diameter of 0.315 inches and a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. Manufactured from tool steel with a black oxide finish, this gage provides repeatable, high-accuracy go inspection results. At 2.0 inches overall length, it is sized for easy single-hand operation in production and inspection environments. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy that carries NIST traceability, supporting quality documentation requirements. Licensed metrologists, quality control technicians, and tool-room machinists are the primary users of this instrument.
This plug gage is used for go inspection of bored holes, reamed openings, and machined passages where a nominal 0.315-inch diameter must be verified. It is equally applicable when setting or verifying micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices to a known reference standard. Typical applications span job shop machining, production line inspection, and metrology lab work across automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing. The black oxide coating resists corrosion during routine shop-floor handling without affecting the ground gage surface.
Designed for go inspection of bored and reamed holes at 0.315-inch nominal diameter, and suitable for setting micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices to a traceable reference standard.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality control technicians and machinists in inspection environments. Before use, clean the gage and the bore surface with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could affect measurement accuracy or damage the gage surface. Apply a light film of instrument oil to the gage body when storing to prevent corrosion. Never force a plug gage into an undersized bore, as this will damage the precision-ground surface and invalidate the calibration.
