The VERMONT GAGE 301000000 is a threaded plug gage assembly designed to verify internal thread conformance to Class 2B tolerance standards on 1-72 unified miniature threads. Built from tool steel with a chrome-plated finish and hardness rated at Rockwell 70-72, this gage is engineered for precision and durability in high-cycle inspection environments. The double-end Taperlock handle design places the Go member on one end and the No-Go member on the other, allowing a technician to perform both acceptance checks without switching tools. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy with NIST traceability, meeting documentation requirements for quality-controlled manufacturing and inspection operations.
This gage is used wherever 1-72 threaded holes must be verified against Class 2B tolerance limits. Typical applications include incoming inspection, in-process quality checks, and final acceptance testing in precision machining, electronics assembly, and instrumentation manufacturing. The 1-72 thread size is common in miniature fastener applications found in medical devices, optical instruments, and small electromechanical assemblies. The Imperial measurement system and inch-dimensioned members make this gage appropriate for U.S.-standard thread verification.
Designed for inspection of internal 1-72 Class 2B threaded features using the Taperlock 000 handle system, compatible with standard Taperlock-style gage members and handles of the same series.
Threaded plug gages are used by quality technicians and machinists and require no power source or special installation. Store gage members in a protective case when not in use to prevent damage to precision-ground surfaces. Clean threads of the part being inspected before gauging to ensure accurate results. Handle members only by the handle, not the gage surfaces, to avoid wear and thermal expansion errors.
