The VERMONT GAGE 301000000 is a Go/NoGo Taperlock thread gage assembly designed to inspect pitch diameter and functional thread form on internally threaded parts. Supplied as a matched pair, the Go member verifies that the thread will accept a mating fastener, while the NoGo member confirms the pitch diameter does not exceed tolerance. Both gages are supplied with a certificate of accuracy and are permanently marked with nominal size, threads per inch, class of fit, and pitch diameters. This assembly is built to the 3B tolerance class for 3/4-20 UNEF internal threads and mounts in a Vermont handle number 3.
This gage assembly is used in manufacturing, maintenance, and quality-control environments where 3/4-20 UNEF fine internal threads must be verified to class 3B tolerance. Typical applications include inspection of threaded bores in hydraulic fittings, precision machine components, and aerospace or industrial hardware. The Taperlock design allows the Go and NoGo plug members to be quickly swapped between handles, making it practical for production-floor inspection as well as tool-room use. Installation of thread gages of this type is performed by quality technicians or machinists familiar with ASME gage standards.
Designed for use with Vermont handle number 3 Taperlock handles. Suitable for inspection of 3/4-20 UNEF class 3B internally threaded components.
Thread plug gages are installed and used by quality technicians or machinists; no special tools are required beyond the appropriate Taperlock handle. Ensure the handle and gage member are clean and free of burrs or debris before assembly to avoid false readings or damage to the gage. Never force the Go or NoGo member through a threaded bore, as this can damage both the gage and the part under inspection. Store gages in a protective case away from other tooling to preserve accuracy.
