The VERMONT GAGE 141162700 is a Class X Plus precision pin gage used to verify bore diameters, hole sizes, and feature dimensions to tight tolerances in production and calibration environments. Machined from tool steel with a 4 micro surface finish, this gage measures 0.627 inches in diameter and 2 inches in length. The Class X Plus tolerance grade of +0.00004 inches places it among the tightest commercially available pin gage classifications, making it well suited for inspection labs, toolrooms, and quality control stations where traceability is required. A Certificate of Accuracy with NIST traceability is included with each unit.
This pin gage is used in applications requiring direct part gaging or calibration of measuring equipment such as bore gages, air gages, and plug gage sets. It is appropriate for both shop-floor inspection and laboratory metrology work. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrologists working in general manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and hydraulic component production regularly use pin gages at this diameter range to verify drilled, reamed, or precision-bored holes.
Designed for use as a go or no-go reference standard for holes and bores at the 0.627-inch nominal diameter. Compatible with standard pin gage handles and gage block accessories sized for this diameter range. Suitable for calibration of measuring equipment per applicable metrology standards.
Pin gages are handled by quality technicians and metrologists and do not require power tools or mechanical installation. Handle the gage with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Store in the supplied case or a protective sleeve when not in use to maintain the surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Do not force the gage into a feature; if resistance is encountered, the feature may be out of tolerance or the gage may be the wrong nominal size.
