The VERMONT GAGE 141150400 is a Class X Plus precision pin gage designed for direct part inspection and calibration of measuring equipment. It measures 0.504 inches in diameter and 2 inches in length, machined from tool steel and finished to a 4 microinch surface finish. The tolerance is held to +0.00004 inches, placing it in the tightest commercially available gage class. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy with NIST traceability, making it suitable for use in calibrated measurement systems. Machinists, quality technicians, and calibration lab personnel are the primary users of this gage.
This pin gage is used in manufacturing, machine shops, toolrooms, and quality control labs where precise hole diameter verification is required. Typical applications include checking drilled, reamed, or bored holes to confirm dimensional conformance to print tolerances. It is also used to verify the calibration of measuring instruments such as bore gages and air gages. The 2-inch length provides enough grip surface for hand use without a handle, though it is also compatible with standard pin gage handles.
Designed as a direct-use precision gage for inspection of 0.504-inch nominal diameter features in manufactured parts and for calibration of measuring equipment in toolroom and quality lab environments.
Pin gages should be handled with clean, dry gloves or wiped with a lint-free cloth before use to prevent corrosion from skin contact. Store in the original protective case when not in use to preserve the surface finish and dimensional integrity. No power source or special tooling is required for use, but all measuring surfaces and the part being gaged should be free of chips, burrs, and debris before contact. Follow your facility calibration control procedures when placing this gage into a certified measurement system.
