The VERMONT GAGE 112315890 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional go inspection of bored holes, machined bores, and similar features. It carries a 15.89 mm nominal diameter and holds a tolerance of 0.00508 mm, making it suitable for production floor verification and quality-control inspection tasks. Every unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST standards, satisfying most shop-floor traceability requirements without additional calibration steps. Metrology technicians, machinists, and quality inspectors use this gage to confirm that a feature accepts the go member before passing a part to the next operation.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection in manufacturing environments where bore diameter conformance must be verified quickly and reliably. Typical applications include setting micrometers, verniers, and other comparative measuring devices to a known reference diameter. The 2.0-inch overall length fits standard gage handle setups commonly used in production inspection. The 10 micro coating finish protects the tool steel substrate from corrosion and wear during regular handling. It is equally appropriate in job-shop environments and high-volume production lines where consistent attribute inspection is required.
Designed for go inspection of features at 15.89 mm nominal diameter and for use as a reference setting standard with micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a traceable bore reference.
Plug gages are installed and used by metrology technicians, machinists, and quality-control inspectors — no trade licensing is required, but proper gage handling practices should be followed. Clean the gage and the bore thoroughly before use to avoid false readings caused by chips or debris. Store the gage in its case when not in use to protect the lapped surface from nicks and corrosion. Do not force the gage into an undersized feature; forced insertion can damage the gage surface and invalidate calibration.
