The VERMONT GAGE 112315790 is a Class ZZ Plus cylindrical plug gage designed for dimensional inspection of bored holes, machined bores, and precision-fit features. Built from tool steel, it checks whether a hole falls within an acceptable size range using a Go inspection method. The gage measures 15.79 mm in diameter with a tolerance of 0.00508 mm and a surface finish of 10 microinch. Overall length is 2.0000 inches. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, confirming it meets ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die professionals use this type of gage in production and inspection environments.
This plug gage is suited for Go inspection applications in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and metrology labs. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, bore gages, and other measuring devices that require a known reference diameter. Typical applications include incoming inspection of machined parts, in-process quality checks on boring and reaming operations, and calibration support for variable measuring instruments. The Class ZZ Plus tolerance class makes it appropriate for general-purpose inspection work where high accuracy is required but ultra-tight tolerance master gages are not specified.
Designed for Go inspection of bored holes and precision features at 15.79 mm nominal diameter, and for use as a reference standard when setting micrometers, verniers, and other variable measuring devices.
Plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils and contamination of the reference surface. Before use, clean the gage and the bore being checked with an appropriate solvent and lint-free cloth. Apply light gage oil after use to protect against rust during storage. Do not force the gage into a bore that resists entry, as this can damage the gage surface and produce false readings.
