The VERMONT GAGE 112314570 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional go inspection of bored holes, machined bores, and other precision features. The gage checks whether a workpiece opening accepts the nominal diameter, confirming the feature is within specification. At 14.57 mm nominal diameter and a tolerance of 0.005 mm, this plug gage meets the requirements of ASME B89.1 and ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST. Each unit has a 10 micro finish on the gage member and an overall length of 2.0000 inches. Quality control technicians, machinists, and tool-room personnel use this gage during incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection tasks in manufacturing and machine-shop environments where close-tolerance bore verification is required. It is compatible with standard gage-handle systems and works alongside set micrometers, verniers, and other calibrated measuring devices to establish or verify measurement references. The Class ZZ Plus designation indicates a tighter tolerance than standard Class ZZ gages, making this a good fit for moderate-precision inspection where ASME B89.1 compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style go plug gage for use with standard plug gage handles and compatible with set micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices per the manufacturer application data.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality control technicians and machinists; no power source is required. Before use, clean both the gage member and the workpiece bore with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, oil, and debris that could cause false readings or accelerate wear. Never force a go gage through an undersize bore, as this can damage the gage member and compromise calibration. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use, and re-verify calibration periodically against a NIST-traceable standard.
