The VERMONT GAGE 112311730 is a Class ZZ Plus cylindrical plug gage manufactured from tool steel for go-type dimensional inspection of bored holes, drilled passages, and machined bores. The gage checks whether a feature meets its minimum material condition, confirming a hole is large enough to accept a mating part. It carries a 0.005 mm (0.00508 mm actual) tolerance and a 10 microfinish surface coating on the gaging member. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, making it suitable for documented quality-control programs governed by ASME B89.1. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die professionals use this gage as a fast, direct-reading alternative to setting micrometers, verniers, and other variable measuring devices.
This plug gage is suited for production and inspection environments where go-type attribute gaging is required on holes nominally sized at 11.73 mm. Typical applications include incoming inspection of machined components, in-process verification on CNC turning and milling operations, and calibration-lab use as a master setting standard for micrometers, bore gages, and similar instruments. The 2.0-inch overall length fits standard handle sets and gage-block fixtures common on the shop floor and in metrology labs.
Designed for go-type inspection of 11.73 mm nominal diameter bored or drilled features. Suitable for use with standard cylindrical plug-gage handles and for setting micrometers, verniers, and other variable measuring devices per the stated application.
This gage is handled by quality technicians and machinists following standard attribute-gaging procedures. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use and apply a light film of instrument oil to prevent corrosion. Never force the gage into a hole; if it does not enter under light hand pressure, the feature is below minimum material condition. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable masters is recommended to maintain measurement integrity.
