The VERMONT GAGE 112102840 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precise go inspection of bored, reamed, or drilled holes. Ground from tool steel to a 10 microfinish surface, it checks whether a hole diameter meets its lower tolerance limit in a single pass. The gage measures 2.84 mm in diameter with a tolerance of 0.00508 mm, making it suitable for tight-tolerance inspection work on production floors and in metrology labs. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements under ASME B89.1.
This plug gage is used in manufacturing and machine shop environments where hole diameter acceptance must be verified quickly and consistently. Typical applications include incoming inspection, in-process quality control, and final acceptance checks on precision machined components. It is also referenced when setting micrometers, verniers, and other comparative measuring devices that require a known dimensional standard. The compact size makes it well suited for small-bore inspection tasks where larger gages cannot be used.
Designed for go inspection of holes with a nominal diameter of 2.84 mm. Also compatible as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other comparative measuring instruments requiring a traceable dimensional reference.
Plug gages of this type are used by quality technicians and machinists and do not require permanent installation. Handle the gage by its body to avoid thermal growth from hand heat, which can affect readings at this tolerance class. Clean the gage and the workpiece bore before use to remove chips, coolant, and debris that would produce false readings. Store the gage in its case when not in use to protect the ground surface from corrosion and mechanical damage.
