The VERMONT GAGE 111322350 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional go inspection of bored holes, drilled passages, and other internal features. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.2235 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for verifying tight-tolerance work in production and inspection environments. The gage features a 10 microfinish surface on the gaging member, reducing wear and ensuring repeatable contact. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, supporting documentation requirements in quality management systems. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality control inspectors are the primary users.
This plug gage is used in production floor and inspection lab settings where internal diameter verification is required before assembly or final acceptance. Typical applications include go inspection of machined bores, calibration checks of setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices. At 0.2235 inches diameter and 2.0 inches overall length, the gage is sized for small-bore work commonly encountered in precision machining, aerospace component inspection, and general metalworking quality control. The included NIST-traceable certificate supports AS9100, ISO 9001, and similar quality system audit trails.
Designed for go inspection of internal features and for use as a setting standard with micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a precision reference of 0.2235 inches diameter.
Plug gages are handled and used by machinists and quality control technicians — no power tools or utility shutoffs are required. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent surface damage and corrosion. Apply a light coat of clean instrument oil when storing for extended periods. Never force the gage into a bore; interference fit indicates the feature is undersize and forcing can damage both the gage and the workpiece.
