The VERMONT GAGE 111270900 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage ground to a 0.7090-inch diameter for NoGo inspection work. This single-ended steel pin gage is used to verify that a bored, drilled, or reamed hole does not exceed its maximum allowable size. The minus tolerance designation means the gage is manufactured below the nominal diameter, consistent with Class ZZ NoGo practice. At 2 inches in overall length, it is sized for handheld use in a standard gage-handle holder. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST standards, satisfying most shop and laboratory documentation requirements.
This plug pin gage is suited for quality control and inspection applications in machine shops, toolrooms, and manufacturing environments. It is used to check holes in metal, plastic, and composite workpieces where dimensional tolerance verification is required. Typical applications include setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices, as well as Go/NoGo inspection routines on production parts. The 0.7090-inch diameter targets a specific fit range and is selected when the mating Go gage has already accepted the hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard inspection tool for use with pin gage handles and setting fixtures that accept 0.7090-inch diameter Class ZZ plug pin gages. Also suitable for setting micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices per the manufacturer application rating.
Pin gage inspection is typically performed by a quality technician or machinist. Before use, clean the gage and the hole being checked to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could produce a false reading. Insert the gage with light, consistent hand pressure — do not force the gage into the hole. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent surface damage that would affect accuracy.
