The VERMONT GAGE 111248900 is a Class ZZ Minus plug pin gage machined from steel and used to perform NoGo inspection checks on bored holes, drilled passages, and other precision features. The gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.4890 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for verifying that a feature does not exceed its maximum allowable size. At 2 inches in overall length, the handle is sized for controlled hand insertion into standard bore applications. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements in quality-controlled manufacturing and inspection environments.
This plug pin gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and quality inspection stations where dimensional verification of holes and bores is required. The Class ZZ designation places it in the general-purpose inspection grade, appropriate for production-floor go/nogo checks rather than master or reference gage applications. It is also suitable for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices that require a known reference diameter. Machinists, quality technicians, and toolroom personnel are the primary installers and users of this gage.
Designed for use as a NoGo inspection gage and as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices requiring a 0.4890 inch diameter reference.
Plug pin gages are handled and used by machinists and quality inspection personnel and do not require power tools or utilities to be shut down prior to use. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when stored to prevent corrosion on the steel surface. Do not force the gage into a bore; hand pressure only should be used to avoid damaging the gage or the workpiece. Store in the original case or a protected location away from other metal tooling to maintain surface finish integrity.
