The VERMONT GAGE 111248100 is a Class ZZ Minus plug pin gage machined from steel and used to perform NoGo inspection on precision bores, holes, and similar features. The gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.4810 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for verifying that a feature does not exceed its maximum material condition. At 2 inches in overall length, it is sized for easy single-hand use in a production or inspection environment. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy that carries full NIST traceability, meeting the documentation requirements of most quality management systems. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and quality control technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This plug pin gage is suited for use in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and metrology labs performing go/nogo hole inspection. It is also used to set micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices to a known reference diameter. Typical applications include incoming inspection of drilled or reamed bores, in-process checks on CNC-machined parts, and calibration of hand-measuring instruments. The 0.4810-inch diameter falls within the fractional-inch and decimal-inch range commonly encountered in general machining and toolroom work.
Designed as an OEM-style Class ZZ plug pin gage for use in any application requiring NoGo inspection at a nominal bore diameter of 0.4810 inches, as well as for setting and referencing micrometers, verniers, and comparable precision measuring instruments.
Plug pin gages are handled and used by machinists, quality technicians, and metrologists - no permanent installation is required. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion on the steel body. Never force the gage into a bore; light, controlled hand pressure is the correct technique to avoid damaging the gage or the part under inspection. Store in the supplied case or a protective sleeve away from other metal tools to preserve the surface finish and dimensional integrity.
