The VERMONT GAGE 111190500 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for precision internal diameter inspection. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.905 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches and a 10 microinch surface finish. Plug gages of this class are used for Go inspection tasks, confirming that a bored, drilled, or reamed hole falls within its acceptable size range. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements in quality-controlled manufacturing and metrology environments. Licensed machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users of this gage.
This plug gage is suited for Go inspection of holes and bores in production and inspection environments. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a known reference diameter. Typical applications include incoming inspection, in-process gauging on machine shop floors, and calibration support in metrology labs. Class ZZ Plus tolerancing makes it appropriate for general-purpose inspection where ASME B89.1 compliance is required.
Designed for Go inspection of holes and bores at 0.905 inches nominal diameter, and for use as a reference standard with micrometers, verniers, and similar measuring devices requiring a traceable diameter reference.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists in inspection or machine shop settings. Store the gage in its protective case and apply a light coat of instrument oil when not in use to prevent corrosion of the tool steel. Never force the gage into a bore; if resistance is encountered during a Go check, the hole is undersized and should be returned for rework. Follow ASME B89.1 handling guidelines and allow the gage and workpiece to reach the same ambient temperature before measuring to avoid thermal expansion errors.
