The VERMONT GAGE 111189800 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precise go inspection of bored holes, machined bores, and other cylindrical features. Manufactured from tool steel with a 10 microfinish surface, this gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.898 inches and holds a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. It ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, meeting the requirements of ASME B89.1. At an overall length of 2.0 inches, it is well-suited for bench-top quality control work in production and inspection environments. Calibration technicians, machinists, and quality assurance professionals rely on this class of gage for fast, repeatable attribute inspection.
This plug gage is used to verify that a hole or bore falls within the acceptable go-limit specification during incoming inspection, in-process checks, or final quality verification. It is appropriate for use alongside set micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices where a physical reference standard is needed. Typical applications include production floor inspection of machined parts in metalworking, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments. The NIST-traceable certificate makes it suitable for use in ISO-compliant and auditable quality systems.
Designed for use as a go plug gage reference standard for holes and bores with a nominal diameter of 0.898 inches. Compatible for use with set micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices requiring a physical reference at this diameter.
Plug gages should be handled and stored carefully to protect the lapped surface finish from nicks, burrs, or corrosion. Before use, clean the gage and the part bore with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, oil, and debris that could affect the measurement. Never force a go gage into a hole; if insertion requires excessive effort, the bore may be undersized or contain a burr that must be addressed first. Calibration and periodic recertification should be performed in accordance with the facility quality plan and applicable metrology standards.
