The VERMONT GAGE 111164500 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel and used to perform go-type dimensional inspection on bored, reamed, or drilled holes. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.645 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches and a 10 microinch surface finish. At 2.0 inches overall length, it handles cleanly in one hand during bench or in-process inspection routines. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, meeting ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-room personnel rely on this gage for fast, repeatable pass-fail checks without requiring a readout instrument.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection of precision holes in manufacturing, toolroom, and quality control environments. It is also used to calibrate and verify set micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices where a known, certified reference diameter is required. Typical applications include production floor inspection of machined bores, incoming material verification, and gauge block or instrument calibration setups. The Class ZZ Plus tolerance grade is appropriate for general-purpose inspection where close but not ultra-high precision tolerance control is needed.
Designed for go inspection of holes at 0.645 inches nominal diameter and as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a certified plug reference.
Plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, verify that the workpiece and gage are at the same ambient temperature to avoid thermal expansion errors. Do not force the gage into an undersized hole; a proper go gage should enter under hand pressure only. Store in a protective case away from abrasive surfaces when not in use.
