The VERMONT GAGE 111154600 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for dimensional inspection of bored, reamed, and drilled holes. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.546 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for go-type inspection work where tight dimensional verification is required. The gage is manufactured from tool steel and carries a 10 microinch surface finish. A Certificate of Accuracy with NIST Traceability is included, supporting quality-assurance documentation requirements in inspection and calibration environments. Licensed metrology technicians, quality control inspectors, and precision machinists are the primary users of this tool.
This plug gage is used in go inspection applications to verify that a hole or bore is within its specified minimum acceptable dimension. It is also suited for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a known reference dimension. Typical use environments include machine shops, manufacturing facilities, toolrooms, and calibration labs working to ASME B89.1 dimensional standards. The 2.0 inch overall length provides adequate handling for bench and floor inspection tasks.
Designed for go inspection of holes and bores at 0.546 inches nominal diameter, and for use as a reference standard when setting micrometers, verniers, and comparable measuring devices.
Plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, verify the gage and workpiece are at the same ambient temperature to avoid thermal expansion measurement error. Do not force the gage into an undersized bore, as this can damage the gage surface and invalidate the tolerance class. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use and re-certify periodically per your facility calibration schedule.
