The VARGUS 67614 is an indexable thread mill designed for both internal and external threading operations on milling machines. Built from solid carbide, this toolholder accepts a single threading insert secured by a screw-lock method, delivering consistent thread profiles across a range of hole sizes and external thread applications. The cutting diameter measures 0.453 inches, with a maximum hole depth capacity of 0.79 inches and an overall length of 3.504 inches. Through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during threading cuts, making this tool well suited for production environments and precision threading work performed by machinists and tooling technicians.
This thread mill is built for milling applications requiring precise internal and external thread generation in a single-pass or helical-interpolation strategy. The TMC toolholder style and 0.75-inch shank diameter accommodate standard milling machine spindles and toolholding systems. The 0.35-inch neck diameter provides clearance in tighter bore entries. With a single flute and one insert position, it is appropriate for threading operations where controlled chip load and surface finish are priorities, including work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials across job shop and production settings.
Designed for use with compatible 0.250-size threading inserts in the style 2 insert format; confirm insert specification against toolholder documentation before ordering. Fitment is appropriate for milling machine setups using 0.75-inch shank toolholders.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 0.75-inch shank in a properly rated collet or toolholder before mounting in the spindle. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and that coolant pressure is within the machine tool specification before operation. Do not exceed the maximum hole depth rating of 0.79 inches during helical interpolation cycles.
