The VARGUS 64044 is a carbide thread milling insert designed for internal UN thread forms at 20 teeth per inch. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers consistent thread geometry and extended tool life in steel and similar ferrous workpiece materials. The insert style is 5I with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle, fitting standard TM series thread mill bodies. It is installed and replaced by CNC machinists and tool-room technicians on milling centers running thread interpolation cycles.

This insert is suited for internal UN thread milling operations on machining centers in production and job-shop environments. The UN thread standard and 20 TPI specification make it applicable to common inch-series fastener threads in steel components. Primary workpiece material class is P-grade steel.
