The VARGUS 53700 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting right-hand internal UN threads on a lathe or threading machine. Carrying the 2JIR insert style designation and the VCB manufacturer grade, it is coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, providing heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding threading operations. The insert cuts at 18 threads per inch (TPI) with a 60-degree included angle, making it suitable for standard UN thread profiles. Machinists, tool and die specialists, and CNC lathe operators install and index these inserts during production and maintenance threading work.

This insert is applied in internal threading operations on CNC lathes and manual engine lathes where UN-standard thread forms are required.
