The VARGUS 52837 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting internal Stub Acme threads at 8 threads per inch. It carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process and is built to the VTX grade specification. With a 3/8 inch (9.53 mm) inscribed circle and a thickness of 3.60 mm, this insert mounts in right-hand internal boring and threading toolholders. The 29-degree included angle conforms to ANSI B1.8:1988 Stub Acme thread form geometry. It is suited for use on CNC lathes and multi-axis turning centers where Stub Acme threads are required in a wide range of workpiece materials.

This insert is used in precision threading operations on CNC turning equipment by machinists and toolroom technicians producing Stub Acme internal threads in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Secure the insert in the toolholder to the torque specification called out by the toolholder manufacturer before running the spindle. Confirm the insert is fully seated and clamped before engaging the thread pass. Do not use a damaged or chipped insert, as this will compromise thread form accuracy and may damage the workpiece.
