The VARGUS 51238 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting external American Buttress threads at 12 threads per inch (TPI). Manufactured to a VKX grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, it is built for right-hand external threading operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 45-degree included angle and measures 0.375 inches inscribed circle (9.53 mm) with a thickness of approximately 0.142 inches (3.60 mm). Machinists and CNC turning specialists use this insert in production and job-shop environments where precise Buttress thread profiles are required.

This insert is suited for external Buttress thread turning on lathes and CNC turning centers.
