The VARGUS 13267 is a CNGP-style carbide turning insert manufactured to V25K grade. It is designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The diamond-shaped insert features a C-style (80-degree) geometry with a neutral clearance angle (N) and a G-tolerance class for consistent, repeatable seating. The P-type chip breaker is optimized for cutting steel and ferrous workpiece materials, supporting efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces during continuous turning passes. This insert is handled and installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for steel turning applications where controlled chip formation is critical. The V25K carbide grade provides a balance of wear resistance and toughness appropriate for ISO P-class workpiece materials, including carbon steels, alloy steels, and low-alloy stainless steels. It is intended for use in CNGP-compatible insert toolholders running at cutting parameters appropriate for carbide grades in general-purpose steel turning.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for CNGP-compatible turning toolholders accepting the 431 insert size designation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the insert clamp to manufacturer-specified procedure without over-torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and shim for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and edge registration.
