The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCV70278 is a Dash 278 Viton O-ring with a round cross section, manufactured from fluoroelastomer for reliable sealing in demanding fluid and gas service applications. It measures 12 inches inside diameter, 12.25 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick. The fluoroelastomer compound delivers a Shore A hardness of 70, rated Hard, with a working temperature range of -15 degrees F to 400 degrees F. This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing in systems that handle petroleum products, and it is installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical service professionals.
This O-ring fits large-bore piping, valve, pump, and equipment flanges where a Dash 278 cross section is specified. Its fluoroelastomer construction provides good resistance to petroleum-based fluids, low compression set, and high-temperature resistance. The wide spectrum of chemical compatibility and low gas permeability make it appropriate for vacuum service as well as pressurized fluid systems. Typical applications include industrial process equipment, large HVAC chiller and refrigeration systems, and commercial plumbing assemblies requiring a chemically resistant, large-diameter seal.
Designed as a standard Dash 278 O-ring replacement for any application requiring a 12 inches ID by 12.25 inches OD by 0.125 inches thick fluoroelastomer seal. Compatible materials include petroleum products per manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a licensed technician or qualified mechanic familiar with large-bore sealing applications. De-energize all system pressure and isolate the fluid circuit before removing the existing O-ring. Clean the gland seat thoroughly and inspect for scoring or damage before seating the new ring. Do not use sharp tools that could nick or cut the O-ring during installation, and avoid twisting the ring in the gland groove.
