The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCTFE008 is a Dash 008 PTFE O-ring sold in a pack of 100, designed for sealing applications that demand chemical resistance and wide temperature tolerance. Made from white polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin, this O-ring features a round cross section with a 0.188 inch inside diameter, 0.313 inch outside diameter, and 0.0625 inch thickness. The medium-hardness (55 Shore) PTFE compound resists chemical attack, operates across a broad temperature range, and exhibits low friction and near-zero water absorption. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics install these in fluid and gas handling systems where standard Buna-N or neoprene seals would fail.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant circuits, chemical process lines, and pneumatic fittings where aggressive media or extreme temperatures are present. The PTFE material is inert to most acids, solvents, and fuels, making it appropriate for both potable-water-adjacent and industrial service. The Dash 008 designation provides a standardized size reference for drop-in replacement into any fitting or port specifying that dash number. The 100-piece pack is intended for service shops and contractors who install or rebuild multiple valve, pump, or fitting assemblies per job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service-stock O-ring for any fitting, valve, or port calling out a Dash 008 cross-section O-ring in PTFE material.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified maintenance mechanics. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing any fitting or component that retains this O-ring. PTFE O-rings do not require lubrication for most chemical or dry-gas applications, but a compatible PTFE-safe grease may be used in hydraulic or high-speed rotary service. Inspect the mating groove for burrs or corrosion before seating the new O-ring to prevent extrusion or premature failure.
