The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCS70387 is a silicone O-ring with a round cross section, sized to the Dash 387 standard. It measures 18 inches inside diameter, 18.375 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches (3/16 inches) thick. Molded from silicone at a Shore A hardness of 70, this O-ring is rated for service from -80 degrees F to 450 degrees F, making it a solid choice where wide temperature swings, dry heat, or ozone and weather exposure are concerns. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians working with large-diameter sealing applications will find this ring appropriate for static face-seal and gasketing situations where silicone compatibility is required.
This O-ring is intended for use in applications that demand a wide operating temperature range and good dry heat resistance. It offers good weather and ozone resistance, along with limited oil resistance. Typical uses include face-seal grooves, static gland sealing, and large-bore pipe or vessel closures where silicone is the specified elastomer. Compatible media include oils, chemicals, and solvents within the limits of silicone elastomer chemistry. This part is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a standard Dash 387 replacement O-ring for any static or face-seal application calling for an 18-inch inside diameter silicone O-ring at 3/16-inch cross section thickness. Note that this part is not FDA approved and should not be specified for food-contact or pharmaceutical sealing applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified maintenance technician. Before servicing, depressurize and drain the system fully and confirm the mating groove is clean, dry, and free of debris or old sealant. Do not use sharp tools to seat the O-ring, as nicks or cuts will compromise the seal. Consult applicable codes such as the IPC or ASME B31 piping standards for torque and assembly requirements specific to the joint being serviced.
