The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90916 is a Dash 916 nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR/Buna-N) O-ring designed for sealing applications across HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and fluid handling systems. It measures 1.171 inches inside diameter, 1.4030 inches outside diameter, and 0.1160 inches in cross-section thickness. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), this O-ring delivers firm compression set resistance and strong resilience against tear and abrasion. It is installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fluid system mechanics wherever a reliable petroleum-resistant elastomer seal is required. Sold in a package quantity of 100.
This O-ring is suited for use in residential and commercial systems involving petroleum-based fluids, hydraulic circuits, fuel lines, and general fluid sealing. The Buna-N elastomer is the most widely used O-ring material in trade applications, offering excellent resistance to petroleum products and mineral-based oils. It performs across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for most standard HVAC refrigerant, oil, and condensate line fittings as well as plumbing shutoff and valve assemblies.
Compatible with petroleum products and mineral-based oils per the Buna-N elastomer specification. Conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec standards for Dash 916 O-ring groove dimensions. Not FDA approved; not recommended for food-contact, ozone-heavy, or direct-sunlight storage environments.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or hydraulic system mechanics. Always de-energize the system and relieve all fluid pressure before replacing O-rings in any pressurized assembly. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or assembly lubricant before seating it in the groove to avoid nicking or rolling during assembly. Do not store Buna-N O-rings near motors, electrical equipment, or in direct sunlight, as ozone exposure degrades the elastomer.
