The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90448 is a Dash 448 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), the most widely used elastomer in fluid-sealing applications. This O-ring measures 9.5 inches inside diameter, 10 inches outside diameter, and 0.25 inches thick with a round cross section. It carries a 90 durometer hardness rating, classifying it as extra hard, which provides strong resistance to extrusion under pressure. The temperature range runs from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Each package contains 5 O-rings. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial mechanics install this size when servicing large-diameter flanged connections, pumps, and fluid-handling assemblies.
This O-ring is suited for stationary face-seal and radial-seal applications where petroleum-based fluids, hydraulic oils, and fuels are present. Its Buna-N compound delivers excellent resistance to petroleum products, strong compression set resistance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. It is appropriate for both residential and commercial mechanical systems wherever a Dash 448 O-ring is specified. The part meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards. Store away from direct sunlight and away from motors or other equipment that generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades nitrile rubber over time.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service O-ring for any application specifying a Dash 448 O-ring in Buna-N. Compatible with petroleum products. Not FDA approved; not intended for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical fluid contact.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified mechanics depending on the system. Depressurize and de-energize the system completely and drain any trapped fluid before removing the old O-ring. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible lubricant before seating to reduce the risk of pinching or tearing during assembly. Do not store unused O-rings in direct sunlight or near ozone-generating equipment such as electric motors.
