The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90357 is a Dash 357 nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring rated at 90 durometer, classified as extra hard hardness. It measures 5.5 inches inside diameter, 5.875 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches thick with a round cross section. The operating temperature range runs from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in industrial and mechanical applications, offering excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, strong compression set performance, and good tear and abrasion resistance. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals use this ring as a static or dynamic face seal in fluid system assemblies.
This O-ring is suited for use in hydraulic systems, pneumatic assemblies, fuel and oil handling equipment, and general industrial plumbing where petroleum-based media contact is expected. The 90 durometer rating makes it appropriate for higher-pressure sealing applications that require a harder, more extrusion-resistant seal material. It is not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments or direct sunlight exposure during storage. Meet SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making it viable for both commercial and government-specification maintenance work.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based fluid media. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service seal for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel system assemblies requiring a Dash 357 Buna-N O-ring. Not FDA approved; not suitable for food-contact applications.
Power down or depressurize the system completely before replacing any O-ring seal. Clean the groove and mating surfaces to remove debris, old seal material, and contamination before seating the new ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based lubricant prior to installation to reduce the risk of tearing during assembly. Do not store unused rings in direct sunlight or near motors and electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as this degrades nitrile rubber over time.
