The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90230 is a Dash 230 O-ring made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR, also known as Buna-N), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 2.5 inches inside diameter, 2.75 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, with a round cross-section and an extra-hard 90 durometer rating. The higher durometer makes it well suited for applications where extrusion resistance and dimensional stability under pressure are priorities. Rated for service from -40 to 250 degrees F, this O-ring delivers reliable sealing across a broad temperature range. Sold in a package of 50.
This O-ring is used in hydraulic systems, pneumatic assemblies, fluid connectors, pump housings, valve stems, and plumbing fittings where petroleum-based fluid compatibility is required. The Buna-N compound provides excellent resistance to petroleum products, oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids, making it a standard choice for HVAC refrigerant circuits using mineral oil, plumbing compression fittings, and general industrial fluid systems. The Dash 230 designation is an industry-standard AS568 size, allowing direct cross-reference with OEM seal kits and maintenance catalogs.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic oils, and fuels. Buna-N is not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments, direct sunlight exposure during storage, or fluids incompatible with nitrile rubber. Not FDA approved. Conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec standards for O-ring seals.
O-ring installation is performed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, hydraulic system mechanics, and industrial maintenance trades. Always depressurize and isolate the system before replacing any O-ring seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease prior to installation to prevent tearing during assembly. Inspect the gland seat for nicks, burrs, or corrosion that could compromise the seal before installing a new ring.
