The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90012 is a Dash 012 Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring rated at 90 durometer hardness, sold in a 100-piece pack. It measures 0.375 inches inside diameter, 0.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.0625 inches in cross-section thickness. The round cross-section profile and extra-hard 90 durometer rating deliver strong compression set resistance along with excellent tear and abrasion resistance. This elastomer is the most widely used O-ring material in the trades, valued for its compatibility with petroleum-based fluids and oils. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics commonly stock these for sealing fittings, valves, and fluid-handling components.
These O-rings are suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-power applications where petroleum-based lubricants, oils, or hydraulic fluids are present. The -40 to 250 degrees F service temperature range covers most mechanical and HVAC system environments. They conform to SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making them appropriate for both service and OEM replacement work. Buna-N O-rings should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades the elastomer over time.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic oils, and related fluids. Designed as a standard Dash 012 O-ring replacement for use in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling assemblies requiring a 0.375-inch ID Buna-N seal. Not recommended for use with ozone, strong acids, ketones, esters, or chlorinated solvents. FDA approval not applicable for this part.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians during valve, fitting, or component service. Shut off fluid flow and depressurize the system before removing the existing O-ring. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based lubricant before seating to prevent nicking or rolling during installation. Avoid storing unused O-rings near motors, ozone-generating equipment, or direct sunlight to preserve elastomer integrity.
