The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70233 is a Dash 233 nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR/Buna-N) O-ring with a round cross section, sized at 2.875 inches inside diameter, 3.125 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick. It carries a 70 Shore A durometer hardness rating, placing it in the hard hardness category. This O-ring seals fluid connections in hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing assemblies and is installed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance trades. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in the trade, valued for its excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, good compression set, and solid tear and abrasion resistance.
This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications involving petroleum products, oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids. It operates across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for a broad range of residential and commercial mechanical systems. Typical install scenarios include pump seals, valve bodies, pipe fittings, and fluid-line connections where a Dash 233 cross-section is specified. It is sold in packages of 50 pieces, making it practical for service trucks and shop stock.
Designed as a standard Dash 233 O-ring replacement compatible with petroleum-based fluid systems. Not FDA approved; not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments or direct sunlight exposure. Should not be stored near motors or other electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified industrial maintenance personnel. Depressurize and isolate the fluid circuit completely before removing the old seal. Inspect the groove and mating surfaces for wear or damage before seating the new O-ring. Apply a compatible lubricant to ease installation and avoid twisting or rolling the ring during assembly.
