The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70220 is a Dash 220 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N) O-ring designed for sealing applications in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling systems. It measures 1.375 inches inside diameter by 1.625 inches outside diameter with a 0.125-inch cross section and a round cross-section profile. The elastomer is rated at 70 Shore A hardness and withstands temperatures from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring material in the trade, prized for its excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, strong compression set, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Each package contains 50 O-rings. Plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and HVAC service professionals commonly stock this size.
This O-ring is suited for use in residential and commercial applications wherever a Dash 220 seal is required. Typical installations include hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic fittings, fuel system components, pumps, and valve bodies that contact petroleum products, oils, and greases. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making it appropriate for both general maintenance and specification-driven repair work. The black Buna-N compound is compatible with petroleum products but should not be used in applications involving ozone exposure, direct sunlight storage, or proximity to motors and electrical equipment that generate ozone.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic oils, greases, and similar fluid media. Designed as a standard Dash 220 replacement O-ring for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and general fluid-sealing applications. Not rated for use with ozone-generating environments or direct UV exposure.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, or HVAC and mechanical service professionals. De-energize and depressurize the system fully before removing the old O-ring or installing the replacement. Inspect the mating groove for nicks, burrs, or contamination before seating the new ring. Lightly lubricating the O-ring with a compatible fluid prior to installation helps prevent tearing during assembly.
